I spent the weekend taking pics of the portland pride festival.  I was uber in the zone during the parade - probably pissed off lots of other photographers cuz I kept getting right up in there.  :-)

I forgot to post pics of the BEACH!

It was some rockin’ fun.  I rented a car and took my coworker Jen and her bf Bobby to Silver Strand beach which is right outside Coronado.  We stopped at a pharmacy and bought a cheap skim board and boogie board. Got to the beach, ate a little breakfast and dove right in. Boogie boarded for a while, almost broke our necks on the skim board and watched a gazzillion kite boarders cruise up and down the coast.  It was exactly what I needed after the stress of the GSM.  I got stung by something on my left foot though…..it still looks like I have bite marks. Jelly fish don’t have teeth!  WTF?  If you’re looking for a beach that isn’t too croweded, check out Silver Strand my friends.  You have to pay an 8 dollar fee but that’s what keeps the massses from going.  Worth it!

After burning ourselves sufficiently, we had lunch in a cool retro cafe in town and then headed for the airport.  Great way to wrap up the trip.  I ended up bringing the boogie board back with me…it cost more to check it than it did to buy it.  Lol.

I’ve been down here in San Diego since Thursday.  Acumed had a Global Sales Meeting at the Hard Rock Hotel.  We had about 150+ people from all over the world show up.  It’s been great.  I spoke on the first day about branding as it has been my main focus at work since January when I started writing a manual to reign in all the rogue ways in which we represent ourselves.  I worked on that 20 min presentation for about 20 hours. Crazy.  We got really good feedback on it though so I think the ROI will be good.  I was so nervous about speaking in front of that many people the night before that I slept a total of um…zero hours.  Yup, and also puked at about 3am. What I’m getting lately however is that public speaking is very important skill to be confident with.  My boss Rich is an amazing public speaker.  He just weaves everything together seamlessly and keeps everyone interested  with some good natured sarcasm.  I will probably never be like him but someday I would like to remember to not say um so much.  :-)

Friday night I was out till about 4am and had to be back at it Saturday morning at 7.  3 hours of sleep in two days sure can make ya….well - dumb and tired.  I just couldn’t be bothered to go out last night.  I hope I don’t get too much shit for it Monday.

My plane doesn’t leave till after 6 today, so I’m going to the beach!  I haven’t been to the so cal beach in like…shit…15 years?  Lookin’ forward to it.
